Crossroads Family Therapy was referred to me by a friend of a friend. I was desperate to find help and understanding for my adult son. Covid lockdown had just begun his wife and he separated so he moved in with me and his father and I watched in horror as my intelligent talented wonderful son crumbled under the pressure of the divorce, custody problems, and the lockdown.
Although he had been managing his own medical needs throughout his adult life, his mental health crisis took all of us by surprise. I didn’t know what it was, but something was very wrong. I spent the better part of two years, begging, doctors therapists, and others who claim to understand mental health issues for help.
Multiple psychiatrists misdiagnosed him.
When I found Karen Allen and told her our story, she was the first person in two years that actually understood what was happening and could explain to us what was happening. Through her guidance, empathy and knowledge she has him back to normalcy. When continues to be a resource for his stability.
We went from hospitalizations, misdiagnoses, wrong medication, etc., to a fully functional productive person once again.
I highly recommend Crossroads Family Therapy, especially if you or your loved one might have bipolar.
Karen was the one who reminded me that my son suffered from a disease called bipolar one not that he is bipolar.
Having bipolar does not have to define your life.
My son is still who he always was and with great care, support and excellent medications today lives a normal life. And is it that what we all want after
KAREN ALLEN
My name is Terry Butler.
Karen Allen has been my counselor/therapist since 2010. After many years of me suffering from misdiagnosis, she was the one who correctly identified my brain disorder.
Her knowledge and treatment of Bipolar II is unsurpassed. Our sessions have given me greater understanding of myself and the tools I needed to thrive in my ministry as an associate pastor of worship at a church in Pomona and most importantly, in my marriage.
Her life of faith in Christ and commitment to the body of Christ is such a vital part of her calling. She sees her work as a calling to minister to the whole person…mind, body, emotions and spirit.
I am grateful to God that she has had such a key role in bringing greater wholeness and integration to my life.
Without any hesitation, I fully recommend Karen to any who need this kind of therapeutic help in their lives.
Being a widow feels very lonely and without the help of a professional, like Karen, I would still be in a fog. Karen is insightful and knowledgeable
and she taught me how to release my grief visually, audibly and at times with journaling techniques to help release the pain I held in my heart.
When you lose your spouse, you feel disconnected from life, can someone help? Karen did. She helped me process all my feelings as they emerged. She would walk through the valleys with me and helped me process my grief and loneliness. Karen’s intuitive perceptions and gifts helped to interpret and bring healing to those difficult moments by showing me ‘a way’ of dealing with those feelings of disconnect and sadness. It has truly been a beautiful walk from loneliness to awareness to feeling more whole again.
So grateful,
Karen’s insightful evaluations and sessions comes from a wealth of knowledgeable experience in knowing how to bring healing to the deep, inner developmental scars that’s so easily choke us. Because of her education, experience and gifting, I, highly recommend, Karen.
I, also believe, she would pass on her knowledge and expertise onto her other colleagues who will help clients, just like me, who will finally begin to walk and become set free and live in true healing.
